About National Mom And Pop Business Owners Day – March 29
“March 29 is a holiday for all the hard-working small business owners out there! The day exists to celebrate your business achievements, and the positivity you bring to your local communities. We understand the hours of hard work you’ve put into helping your business exist, grow, and thrive, and on March 29, the entire nation recognizes your achievements. Without the business acumen of entrepreneurs behind Mom and Pop businesses, this country would be a very different place. We see this in the amount of jobs that are created by small business owners, and as of late, these numbers have been higher than the corporate counterparts. What is the origin of this special day? The holiday allegedly began with Rick Segal, the son of the “Mom and Pop” business the day is named for. Segal’s parents first opened a hat shop called Ruth’s in Everett, Massachusetts on March 29, 1939. The store became successful and later evolved into specialty clothing store for women. The store’s location moved to Medford, Massachusetts, and grew in size, totaling 10,000 square feet. As with the store’s size, the revenue grew too, bringing in over $2 million in revenue. The store eventually closed in 1997.” — I hope that you like this public interest National Mom And Pop Business Owners Day card.
